Detox Delight sounds as if detoxing is mere fun. You know what? It is! I like to detox a couple of times per year. But especially this one week during the cold season is especially important for me. As a prevention for Christmas. S that my immune system can handle all the upcoming sweets and all! My detox weeks always contain loads of healthy stuff, no alcohol and no sweets. And that’s really tasty! Because my fresh juices no only contain lots of minerals and vitamins. They are also yummy!
Such a detox week is a real treat for our body. It only gets the best then. Healthy fresh juices, light meals, a lot of sleep and a lot of attention.
To reproduce my juices at your home you need a few tools. A mixer, a juicer – if possible – and a juice squeezer (manually or automatically).
For my juices I sometimes need all three tools, sometime one or two, depending on the juice.
I know that juicers lost image because much more vitamins are preserved in a mixer.
But I prefer the consistency of my juices that way. It is of course your choice which tool to choose. The procedure is always the same: cut all ingredients in small pieces and throw them in a mixer. Fill it up with some water and/or the fresh pressed juice of citrus fruits. Or if you use a juicer: hard fruit or veggies can all be juiced. For the rest (like avocados or bananas) you need a mixer.
During a detox week everything fresh and pure is allowed. Fresh veggies and fruit are healthy and a blessing for our health.
Here we have a classic. Red beet, apples, carrots, oranges and ginger. Such a juice is full of vitamins and minerals. Perfect as a health booster!
I also love the combination of cucumbers, apples, lemons and avocado. Avocados are packed with valuable ingredients.
Vitamin, minerals, amino acids, antioxidants and polyunsaturated fatty acids make avocados so precious. And cucumber adds the rare vitamin K which protects us from osteoporosis and arteriosclerosis. Top that with fresh coriander. Yum!
I recently discovered the simple combination of apples and pears again. With or without ginger. Pears are very poor in acids and contain lots of fibers (great for our digestive system!). In addition they contain vitamin A, vitamins of the B-group, folic acid ad vitamin C. Furthermore the minerals Potassium, Calcium and Magnesium. Burner!
And what if it needs to be a bit more meaty? Then a banana shake with kiwis and lemons is a wonderful alternative.
But please combine it with coconut water or almond milk instead of cow milk.
Enjoy and have fun!
