London is always worth a visit! I’ve been to London several times as I either had a job there or I went to visit my brother with his family. They have been living in London on and off for the past 20 years. London always gives me a great feeling as I honestly worship the internationality and the diversity of the city and its inhabitants. Here you will find my personal insider tips!
But for me this city is much more about the different districts such as Soho for example which are worth a visit.
Foremost the capitol of Great Britain is a melting pot! Here people from all skin colors, religions, heritages and cultural backgrounds mingle harmoniously which I personally enjoy most!
If you want to go shopping go to Kings Road as it is not that touristic. Unlike Brompton Road in Knightsbridge with Harrods and such. But if it’s a first for you in London of course you should go there as Harrods, Liberty and Selfridges– the oldest department stores in London – will blow your mind!
restaurants, bars and cafes
There are several spots at the moment concerning where to go for food. The Riding House Café in Oxford, Sommerset House in Holborn and the Serpentine Gallery in Hyde Park are great places to brunch and or to experience art.
The Ivy Chelsea Garden is a beautiful location which is decorated with tons of flowers outside. Sketch on the other hand has by far the coolest interior. It’s a great restaurant and bar but you can also go for high tea.
Then there is Élan Café, a place which is pink all over, crazy! It’s really super cute. And if you want to go for a Sunday roast vist the Bumpkin which is a Britsih gastro pub. And finally you should definitely try out Sushisamba and Duck and Waffle. The restaurants are located at the same place as the Sky High Rooftop Bar which is so cool! And speaking of bars, try Walkie Talkie-Sky Garden and Aqua Spirit right in Oxford Circus where you can eat sushi and look all over London.
London – my personal tip
Get a car and drive from the National Museum all through Brompton Road. Pass by Harrods then go through Green Park and end up in Oxford Circus. It ‘s a nice drive and you will see a lot! Even when the sky is cloudy as it was during my visit! 😉
